At InterGen, our vision is a world with stable, dependable energy for all. Our Values drive the behaviour that everyone across InterGen embraces, namely Safety@Heart, Team players by nature, Entrepreneurs in spirit, Integrity always and Community counts. Through those values, we are committed to conducting our business with the highest ethical and legal standards. This includes ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business.

Our business and supply chains

InterGen is a privately-held owner, operator and developer of power generation facilities, with over 25 years’ experience in the UK, wholly owned by Sev.en Global Investments. InterGen owns more than 2,800 megawatts of electric generating capacity in four advanced technology projects. We generate this power for communities in ways that are environmentally and socially responsible.

With headquarters in Edinburgh, UK, InterGen partners with utilities, businesses, and governments to create secure, cost-effective energy systems.

We have more than 189 people anchoring this UK network, all committed to the efficiency and safety of these plants.

Our approach to compliance

To ensure that slavery and human trafficking are not taking place in any part of our business or supply chains, we undertake robust and risk-based supplier on-boarding processes at the outset of supplier relationships. We expect entities in our UK and international supply chains to have and enforce suitable anti-slavery and human trafficking policies and processes.

Our Code of Conduct applies to all full-time or part-time and temporary employees of InterGen as well as all representatives, consultants and agents. Non-InterGen personnel with whom we do business, including partners, suppliers and contractors, are expected to conduct themselves to the same standards. Our Code of Conduct therefore translates our Values into behavioural standards and sets out fundamental principles of business conduct expected from InterGen’s management, officers, employees, contractors and agents.

As part of our commitment to ethical behaviour, InterGen operates an Integrity Helpline (UK: 0800 032 8483 or www.InterGenIntegrityHelpline.com to access the reporting portal) as an intake and reporting channel for employees who have questions about a business issue or who wish to report a concern about potential wrongful conduct. This multilingual, confidential and anonymous toll-free service is available to all employees 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year.

Training

All members of staff are required to complete the Code of Conduct online training and any other mandatory training assigned on an annual basis.

Key Performance Indicators

We will continue to monitor the effectiveness of our compliance regime and take necessary steps to address any instances of slavery and human trafficking.

We will use the following Key Performance Indicators to measure how effective we have been to ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in any part of our business or supply chains:

  • number of staff confirming that they have read and understood the Code of Conduct;
  • instances of taking appropriate action following any slavery and human trafficking concerns identified in the course of risk assessment or due diligence in respect of our suppliers;
  • the number and nature of disclosures made to the Integrity Helpline; and
  • any suspected policy or Code of Conduct breaches reported (whether under the Integrity Helpline or otherwise, and whether reported internally or from an external source) being assessed within a reasonable time of being reported and further investigations concluded, and any remedial action taken, as soon as possible thereafter.

This statement was approved by InterGen Holding Ltd on 27th February 2024 and made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. It constitutes our group’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 2023.
