Jim LightfootChief Executive Officer
With 30 years of experience in the energy industry across generation, trading, distribution and retail, Jim brings a wealth of expertise to our business. Prior to joining InterGen, he held a series of senior global positions with E.ON, including divisional managing director and chief operating officer roles.
Jim’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Surrey. He is also a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, and a member of the Institute of Directors.

Paul SansomChief Financial Officer
Paul Sansom is a qualified UK Chartered Management Accountant and a member of the Association of UK Corporate Treasurers. Prior to joining InterGen he held senior finance roles with various blue-chip businesses, including PepsiCo, BMW Group and CFO of Viking Services. He has also held senior management positions in family group businesses in the Middle East and Operational Partner positions within Private Equity Funds. Paul holds a BA (Hons) Economics from City London.

A solicitor with 20 years’ experience in corporate and energy law. In private practice David advised clients in various sectors on mergers an acquisitions, corporate finance and joint ventures. He has experience across the energy sector, from upstream transportation and production to thermal and renewable power generation.
Before joining InterGen, David worked in private practice with Macfarlanes in London and McGrigors (now Pinsent Masons) in Edinburgh. He was previously regional counsel at InterGen, supporting our UK and Netherlands operating business.

Chris MooreChief Strategy and Growth Officer
Chris has over 30 years’ experience in international energy infrastructure development, energy commodity trading, and associated structured financing. He completed his first international power station portfolio M&A acquisition in 1994. Along the way to InterGen, Chris has worked for HNW, family offices, private equity funds, strategic corporates, and pension fund investment vehicles.
Chris is a chartered chemical engineer (B.Eng), and holds a 1997 Warwick MBA (majoring in new venture creation). Chris sits on the Energy Panel at the Institution of Engineering and Technology.
Dave Newborough OBEChief People Officer +
Dave Newborough OBEChief People Officer
With over 35 years of experience gained in the sector as an HR professional, Dave has worked across the full energy value chain both in the UK and internationally. Prior to working with InterGen, he was a management board member of E.ON UK having previously worked in the Corporate Office in Düsseldorf, and on the Executive team of the International CCGT Fleet.
Dave has a Masters in Strategic HRM and is a Fellow of the CIPD and RSA. He was granted an OBE in 2019 for his contribution to skills in the Energy Sector having spent a decade as Chair of the National Skills for Power Academy and Board member of Energy & Utility Skills. He is a Trustee of a Sustainable Travel Company and Executive Mentor.
